What is the Deposit Return Scheme?

Picture this: you finish that refreshing can of your favorite drink, and instead of tossing it into the recycling bin, you return it to the store and get your deposit back.

How does it work?

It’s as easy as sipping on a daiquiri on a sunny beach. When you purchase a drink, you’ll pay a small deposit fee, it’s 15c for anything from 0-500ml and 25c from 500ml to 3 Litres. Once you’re done with that tasty drink, simply return the empty container to a recycling unit, and voila! You’ll get a slip which entitles you to your deposit back in the form of money off your next purchase or cash back at the till.

Why should you participate?

By recycling your empty containers, you’re doing your part to reduce waste and conserve valuable resources. Let’s raise a glass to Mother Earth!

Which containers are eligible?

Not sure if your favorite beverage is part of the “Re-Turn” club? Don’t worry, we’ve got your back. The scheme covers a range of containers, including aluminum cans, and plastic bottles. From your go-to cola to your favourite beer can, chances are, it’s eligible for a return. The best way to know is to look for the Re-Turn Logo on the packaging of the product.
